This is the first of a series of stories under the umbrella of The Bad Fortune Teller. It is also one of my attempts to write children’s stories which, I’ve been told, I don’t write. So, this is my non-children’s story.
I like working with Madam Nuage because her fortune-telling is vague, yet she gives me enough of a concept to build the framework for the story. I have complete freedom to explore.
I wanted Ernie to be like us, taking precautions because of something he’d been told, even though he didn’t really believe what Madam Nuage had said. And plain old bad luck can happen to anyone at any time, right? Or, was it predicted? You choose.
